Old Town walking tour with concert in Tallinn

DURATION: 3,5 hours

TOUR PROGRAM:

Tallinn is one of the finest medieval old towns in all of Northern Europe. Enjoy the view from your coach as you pass the Old Town wall with its towers from the 13th to 15th centuries, then continue past the National Opera and the Freedom Square.

The coach will take you to the Dome Hill (Toompea), the site of the Parliament of Estonia, the Long Hermann Tower, the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Alexander Nevski, the Lutheran Dome Church (St. Mary's Cathedral) with its more than 100 coats of arms, the House of the Estonian Knighthood etc. A stroll through the narrow cobble-stone lanes and blind alleys will take you to a scenic viewpoint where you can get a magnificent view of the Lower Town with its red rooftops, slender church steeples and a beautiful view to the sea.

Continue through the Long Leg to the Lower Town with its narrow 13th century street network. You will visit the Great Guild House to enjoy a short concert of medieval music. After the concert you will see the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, the Holy Ghost Church, the Town Council's Apothecary (1422) and the Town Hall (1404). Through Apteegi (Pharmacy) Lane you will go on to the Katariina (Catherine's) Passage lined with handicraft workshops, and Müürivahe Lane with the street market of wool and linen products. At the end of the program you will have the option to spend some more time in the town or to return to the ship with the coach.

Note that the tour may not be run in this exact order to avoid congestion but all sights are, of course, included.
